April 2026

Dear Readers, Another month full of heartfelt deeds, emotions, tears, joy, and in the end a little smile on my face. I write the newsletter from different places. Sometimes in bed with love-seeking cats who need a bit of rest after surgery and are allowed to sleep in the bedroom. Sometimes at the airport when I have to wait until finally all passengers are allowed to board for Mallorca.

April 2026

Dear Readers,

Another month full of heartfelt deeds, emotions, tears, joy, and in the end a little smile on my face.

I write the newsletter from different places. Sometimes in bed with love-seeking cats who need a bit of rest after surgery and are allowed to sleep in the bedroom. Sometimes at the airport when I have to wait until finally all passengers are allowed to board for Mallorca. At night in the living room when I can't fall asleep or I'm running late with writing. Or like this time in the large outdoor enclosure of 100 square meters where the dogs can really let loose. I'm currently watching our Pastor Mallorquin mix Mischon dig a hole and hide her ball in it.

We are all from Finca Noah 2.0, everyone from the Animal Police team is so incredibly proud that an artwork by internationally renowned graffiti artist Marcus Dörr has beautified the house wall of Finca Noah 2.0. Marcus was absolutely passionate about our project and animal welfare when he visited us last year at the old Finca. Marcus offered to support us because he wanted to do something to raise awareness about animal welfare and what Finca Noah 2.0 means for the rescued animals.

A place where they can recover, regain trust, be protected, loved, and cared for.

Marcus Dörr and his graffiti artist agency Artmos4 have achieved great success in this form of art. Major well-known companies like Deutsche Bahn, Audi, Porsche, McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Telekom, Lego, RTL, and many more trust the passionate graffiti artist and commission him again and again to make the world a little more beautiful and colorful.

Marcus told me that he now paints over his own graffitis that he once sprayed illegally under the cover of darkness. Not many people could do what he does.

The artwork on the house wall of Finca Noah 2.0 was created in three days with full physical effort. The house wall is about 10 x 4 meters, which means climbing up and down the ladder, back and forth to the right and left repeatedly. A time-lapse video would show his peak performance over three days in just a few seconds, and everyone would say it's quite easy. It looks simple when you watch it, but believe me, I wouldn't even know where to start. With the tree, the ear of our donkey Pablo, the lettering...

We're all amazed at how Marcus manages to create such an artwork with just a few spray cans that shows the animals of Finca Noah 2.0 in such detail. Anyone who follows us on social media or has already helped us will recognize each individual animal.

We've been able to see that pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, visitors, and neighbors stand enthusiastically in front of the wall and have great respect for it. Once for the artist and for us at Animal Police, who are painstakingly but with a lot of love creating this place of recovery for the animals. Everyone who lets themselves be photographed in front of the graffiti and finds the right position can claim the wings of our yellow-breasted macaw Massimo as their own. Massimo isn't just the center of attention in the graffiti. His enclosure, which he shares with his life partner Berta, is also in the center of the Finca, because the two of them love being in the middle of everything, being able to observe everything, and occasionally even mimicking the sounds they hear.

Anyone who has a boring wall or object that could use some color and art is welcome to contact Marcus. He and his team love making the world a happier place with lots of colors. Visit the Artmos4 website

Goat Willie

A young Spanish family was hiking in the mountains in the Tramuntaña. In the mountains you always encounter wild goats that are native there. A little kid goat cried out for help, alone and helpless. With an injury to its leg, it couldn't keep up with its herd, its family, so it was simply left behind. The Spanish family cut short their outing and took the little goat home with them. They urgently sought help so the little one could regain its strength. The next day they brought the little kid to us. This is the first time Animal Police has taken in a goat. We've rescued many before, but never cared for one on our Finca, because the landlord of the old Finca had always forbidden it. We immediately fell in love with the little heartbreaker and agreed to help him.

The vet visit showed that fortunately his leg wasn't broken. A severe infection, which he probably suffered from a bite by an animal, caused severe pain, so he was only walking on three legs. According to the veterinarian, medications should help him. The vet also mentioned the possibility of amputation if the infection progressed and the skin died. After a few days it didn't improve, so we went back to the vet. The infection wasn't being stopped by the medications; in fact, it was the opposite. To speed up the healing process, the wound was treated with laser therapy. As it stands today, amputation of the leg is not necessary. Getting a second opinion can indeed be worthwhile after all.

Keep your fingers crossed for little Willie that his leg heals quickly. He has so many friends with the dogs and the little sheep Gianna to run around and play with on the farm. He's already climbing to low heights. He loves his bottle and responds when you call his name. We hope Willie won't become too much of a climbing artist and eventually scale the property walls. Lidia and her family, who found and rescued the little goat, visit him regularly and are so grateful to the entire Animal Police team for taking care of Willie and doing everything we can so he fully recovers. The little goat has already warmed all the hearts of those who have met him. Our dear farrier Sandra has also fallen in love with him and immediately took over his sponsorship. She chose his name, and we think it suits him perfectly.

Check out our website, there are several other four-legged friends who would love to have a godparent too.

Sphynx Cats

Perhaps some of you remember the August 2025 newsletter. I reported that we were called to a house where countless cats were living and had basically taken over the place. Eventually the owner no longer lived in the house; the messy house was honestly no longer livable. We rescued more than 30 cats from that house and gave them a second chance to live a species-appropriate cat life. Today all except the blind tomcat are free on our property and enjoying their freedom in a safe space.

We were asked for help again. In a small place in the middle of the island, two Sphynx cats were spotted on the street. They were wandering there disoriented and hungry. They were in a concerning condition. I saw them roaming the streets and was horrified at what someone would do to animals. Distressed, emaciated, almost dehydrated, starving — that's how I found the two. They were probably abandoned on the street. It's getting increasingly warm and the sun more intense. A cat without fur will suffer under the Majorcan sun. We secured the two immediately. I have to say, Sphynx cats are very special cats. They are very human-oriented, very social, very naked.

We realized they need special care and people with experience caring for this breed. A dear friend of Farah's and an animal welfare advocate with experience with every cat breed agreed to take them as a foster home until a family is found. On top of their generally poor condition, they also have diarrhea and giardia. An intestinal parasite that can become very dangerous for a cat.

We're happy for both cats that they now have a caring person looking after them properly.

We're looking for a loving forever home for both Sphynx cats. If you have experience caring for these sensitive cats and would like to give them a safe home, please contact Animal Police.

As every month, I thank you for reading my lines.

Warmly yours,
Nadine
