A Week in Service of the Animals
It has long been my dream to stand up for animals – because my heart belongs to them. When a good colleague told me about her stay at Finca Noah in Mallorca and raved about it, I knew – this was exactly what I needed. So I reached out to Farrah and got an incredibly friendly voice message back right away. Soon everything was arranged, and on August 6, 2023, I started my journey to Mallorca.
After a short drive in my rental car, I arrived at the Finca. I was warmly welcomed by a donkey, a horse, and a pack of barking dogs. One of the first things I noticed was – it's incredibly tidy and clean.
So I moved into Casa Jeannine, a cozy little tiny house right on the Finca. Already in the evening, I started my first evening round – where I was thoroughly introduced to everything. I was also made aware of everything that matters so much to Farrah =) I was prepared for the fact that she takes everything very seriously – and that's exactly how it is. It's sometimes a bit strict, perhaps even a little annoying at times =) But the reward is the cleanliness and orderliness – which I already noticed at the beginning – which I, as a typical Swiss person, naturally also greatly appreciate.
So the days went by – Farrah hadn't promised me anything false – the daily routine consists of mucking out, mucking out, feeding, picking up dog poop, mucking out, mucking out, feeding, playing, walking dogs, and then starting all over again. I was warned that it's tough – and it absolutely was. But the feeling you get in the evening after a physically demanding day, the joy you see in the eyes of the animals, is priceless.
So after a week, I came home physically tired but with an extremely happy heart. I had a wonderful time with Farrah, Nadine, and Gina. We laughed a lot, motivated each other, and just had a good time.
I take my hat off to the entire team, which takes care of the animals' well-being every single day, with only short and few breaks.
So I can recommend a stay at Finca Noah to anyone who, like me, wants to experience the feeling of doing something truly meaningful – if you're motivated, if you can and want to get your hands dirty, if you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves – then YOU are exactly the right person. The animals will thank you for your effort with their love.
With all my love
– Steffi
