March 2026

Dear Readers,

I'll start right away with a follow-up to last month's newsletter.

I reported about our peacocks.

The second peahen, to whom we wanted to provide a peaceful, beautiful, and species-appropriate life at Finca Noah 2.0, has arrived with us. After acclimatizing in a large aviary, both peahens are now exploring the entire Finca. There is so much to discover. Curious and cautious, they look around. They wallow in the earth to bathe, and screech joyfully all around. That typical sound that peacocks make β€” I've missed it so much. In the aviary, during acclimatization, the two rarely made any sounds. For me personally, one of the animal highlights of recent days was releasing them into the wild. It's so beautiful to see such a lovely and elegant animal, rescued from a filthy, neglected small enclosure, brought into a large secure aviary and later freely on Finca Noah 2.0, which is a paradise, able to enjoy their life. Both mainly roam in the middle of the dogs and cats. That shows just how happy they are. And very obediently, they climb and fly into the treetops in the evening to sleep. No animal deserves to be locked up.

A warm welcome to the Animal Police family.

Building Finca Noah 2.0 at Full Speed

The big move is now about 5 months behind us. Five months during which we've been working tirelessly day after day in what was initially great chaos and much makeshift arrangement for the animals. Establishing a new animal sanctuary, with much love for detail, takes a lot of time, strong nerves, and above all money. If we could wish for something, it would certainly be that all animals already have their safe and species-appropriate areas finished. That Finca Noah 2.0 at its new location in its new splendor becomes a refuge for all animals in distress. The massive construction site Finca Noah 2.0 is clearing very, very slowly. The tireless effort is slowly becoming visible. Friends and helpers who visit us regularly and also support us are amazed at each visit by how much has been accomplished, how Finca Noah 2.0 is slowly taking shape, how it's coming into being. After we've cared for all our charges with food, attention, and cuddles, their enclosures and stalls are clean, and everyone is happily enjoying their time, we're back to building, painting, planning, organizing. Late into the night, with headlamps and flashlights. Since our animals can and are allowed to move freely on the grounds for the most part, they're always there, always in the thick of it. We always keep the big goal in mind β€” that's what encourages and motivates us every day to keep going. We really have to do a lot ourselves, because the donations we receive aren't nearly enough to provide all these souls with a beautiful life. We're grateful for any help, because there's still sooooo much work ahead of us. If any of you dear readers would like to come and help sometime, get to know our animals, then please get in touch with us. We look forward to seeing you.

In last month's newsletter, I introduced three lady dogs to you who urgently need a home. A family, a place to live, and a friend for life. We won't give up on finding exactly that family for them. Please help us β€” they more than deserve it.

Animal Police places great value on sustainable animal welfare, which is why we're very keen to receive regular donations for our animals.

With a sponsorship of one of our charges, you can do so much good. Find your animal on the Animal Police website under the Sponsorships section that you'd like to support with a sponsorship. This secures part of the food and veterinary costs. Of course, you'll receive regular updates on how your sponsored animal is doing, with photos and videos showing you what we're making possible with the sponsorship contribution to give your sponsored animal a beautiful life. A sponsorship can also be given as a gift to a friend or family member. Easter is just around the corner. If you're still looking for a small, sweet surprise, you'll certainly find something on our website. Everyone receives a lovingly designed certificate in the mail that symbolically stands as recognition and thanks for the wonderful support.

Dear Cornelia and Reto each have a kitten as their sponsored animal. A sibling pair that didn't have an easy start in life, but are slowly building trust in us humans and are allowed to feel right at home on Finca Noah. I was able to observe the sponsor family meeting their sponsored children in person, and I say from the bottom of my heart: thank you to the wonderful sponsor parents who have their hearts in the right place. They traveled from Switzerland to Mallorca, took the time to meet the two tomcats, Findus and Felix, in person, supported us in our work for the animals, and in the evening were overjoyed to have spent such a beautiful day with so much love and grateful animals.

We've had families visit us who fell so in love after sponsoring that they adopted their sponsored animal right away.

Animal welfare can be so beautiful and simple when everyone pulls together, works for the animal as one, and above all respects the animal for what it is. Not every human is the same, and that applies in the animal kingdom too.

The entire Animal Police team says thank you for your support, and I thank you, as I do every month, for reading my words.
