Dear readers, it's that time again. The newsletter that brings you mentally to Finca Noah in Mallorca is back.
With sorrow, love, joy, pain and many tears, we give everything for the animals.
We've just had another very emotionally charged month.
Sweet Surprise in the Rabbit Enclosure
A kind lady from Palma helped us rescue two rabbits from appalling conditions. The two rabbits were kept in a small cage where they could barely move. And worse still β certainly much worse β the cage sat with the rabbits on a rooftop terrace in the sun, in the summer heat. It goes without saying that this is in no way species-appropriate care, and certainly the two would not have survived much longer.
In our rabbit enclosure, they took to it immediately, relishing the lettuce, carrots, apples, cucumbers, tomatoes and so on. We take every animal we rescue to the veterinarian. An appointment for spaying/neutering was made right away for the pair, because during the general examination the vet discovered that they were not two females as assumed, but one female and one male. What was kept from us β or perhaps was simply unknown β was that the female rabbit was already pregnant when she arrived with us. Quietly, hidden in the straw in a warm and safe nest the mother had prepared, she gave birth to her five babies. After neutering, she wanted nothing to do with nursing anymore, so we bottle-fed the babies. Sadly, two of the babies didn't make it β they were the smallest from the litter and although they received our full attention and we truly gave everything to see them all grow up, they were simply too weak. The three little snow-white rabbit babies now enjoy the attention of mummy, as the small family stays together and still cuddles in the little nest.
The mother has been named Lina. We are currently looking for sponsors willing to take on a sponsorship for the babies to cover the veterinary costs and food costs for the little ones. We are also very grateful for name suggestions. So please don't hesitate to write us an email if you'd like to name one of the babies as your godchild.

A Shock Moment with Our Little Sheep Angel
Our smallest and youngest sheep Angel is currently our worry among our seven little sheep. Angel is a little clumsy one, someone who only gets silly ideas in his head, a loyal soul, almost like a little shadow or pest. He loves running around like a dog next to people. After all, he was bottle-fed right in the middle of our dog pack with Farah. So we don't hold it against him if he'd rather be a dog than a sheep.
Angel injured his ear during the night. We found him with a bleeding wound that seemed to have become infected that same night, causing part of his ear to die. Our vet Barbara comes from Soller and has a 1.5-hour drive, but she has fallen in love with each and every one of our sheep and takes the long journey very gladly. Unfortunately, she couldn't completely save Angel's ear. Vet Barbara had to amputate part of it. When we're confronted with such a decision, we don't need to think long. We always have the animal's wellbeing and life at heart. Meanwhile, Angel can walk around without the bandage around his head and bother all his mates. Barbara now lovingly calls him Nemo (the little clownfish from the movie Nemo is the namesake). We're more than satisfied with how the wound is healing β it was really nerve-wracking, as such medical treatments thankfully don't happen every day. Angel is still our little clumsy one, even if he's missing part of his ear. True beauty comes from within. We love all our animals just as they are. And all our animals, just as they are, are perfect.

From the Street to Safe Finca Noah
We have freed two poor little souls from Natura Parc! We didn't just get them out or retrieve them. When we say freed, we mean it. Because when an animal is as obviously suffering as these two kittens were β they had almost given up from sadness, pain and lack of love β one must speak of freedom. Both kittens each had an accident on the street. No one knows exactly what happened. What we know for 100 percent is that you don't just put an animal that's been hit by a car on the street into a cage and leave it to its fate on cold concrete. One cat suffered a severe blow to the head; the other lost her tail after the accident.
It's really hard for us to understand how one can be so heartless. The two are now recovering from the accident with us, receiving veterinary treatment and having completed their quarantine period. Both were allowed to move into the large cat enclosure and can now truly settle in. Little Stella, the cat with the amputated tail, has managed to assert herself and now enjoys life outside the kennels, here on our farm. She jumps, she runs, she plays... a happy life in the midst of the everyday happenings of Finca Noah. No, she's not just here β she's right in the middle of everything.

Beyond the work we do for the animals every day, we are still collecting donations to buy a farm. In September's newsletter, I reported to you in detail what happened to us. I told you about the report and as a result the lease for Finca Noah will not be renewed. We were told we had to leave Finca Noah on 30.10.2024 with over 200 animals.
After a long search, we finally found a farm, but we lack the money to buy it, so we launched a fundraising campaign. We thank from the bottom of our hearts every single person who has supported us with a donation and brings us step by step closer to our goal. Thank you for your trust, thank you for believing in us, and in the name of the animals, thank you that you exist. We haven't yet reached our goal to buy a farm with all the licenses and legal stables we need for the animals. That's why we needed a quick solution. Our lawyer actually managed to secure an extension, so we no longer have the great fear of ending up on the street with the animals. We've been given a little time to find a solution as quickly as possible. We really need every single one of you. We've already experienced and accomplished so much. We now have to manage the move to a new home as well.
At this point, we would like to give a huge thank you to the Salto family. We've been given a tremendous opportunity for which we are infinitely grateful. The Benefit Gala for Animal Police will take place on November 27, 2024, in Kloten/Zurich. The gala premiere keeps the animals in focus throughout the evening. Such a wonderful gesture, which we truly appreciate.
We thank the Salto family from the bottom of our hearts, Anja Walder and her entire team who are now working at full speed to ensure we have an unforgettable evening on November 27 and accomplish something great.
Secure your ticket and help us buy the animals the home they desperately need and deserve.
Give your loved ones a ticket for Christmas. A unique opportunity to give two gifts in one. You make both humans and animals happy with one gift...
We thank you in the name of the animals for reading and for your support.
Nadine and the entire Animal Police team.
