August was an absolute highlight!
Once again in August, the Animal Police team was able to rescue many animals. Among them, 2 dogs and various cats. Our family at Finca Noah keeps growing and growing. We also had new arrivals at the Finca — a Pastor Mallorquin mother dog with her 11 puppies can now feel completely at home with us. As well as the babies of our cat "Catwomen". Our paradise is bursting with joy and there's certainly no shortage of action.
As wonderful as it is to witness all of this and to be able to rescue the animals, the month also brought horrendous veterinary costs. It's not easy for an animal welfare organization to get by during such a time of the COVID crisis. We are counting on our readers, our fans, and our donors not to abandon us and to continue enabling us to rescue many animals and fight against animal suffering!
HIGHLIGHT
However, there is one story we would like to highlight in particular, because it is our absolute highlight.
When Animal Police moved to Finca Noah in January, there was nothing there yet. No kennels, no fence, no doghouses, nothing at all. At that time, a very special animal was rescued. The female dog Unica came to Finca Noah. She was the first animal, together with her 6 puppies, to be rescued and nursed back to health at Finca Noah. With the diagnosis of leishmaniasis, the Animal Police team took on the fight against this disease and did everything to ensure that Unica could have a healthy and beautiful life. Her 6 children were able to be placed in wonderful homes after 3 months — 4 on Mallorca and 2 in Germany.
But Unica has been with us ever since. She is a very large dog, already over 3 years old, was raised as a "breeding machine," she is completely black, and doesn't get along well with cats and sheep. We were unfortunately never able to find a suitable home for her. However, in August, very special visitors came to Finca Noah: Patricia Kelly with her family Denis and her sons Alex and Iggy with his girlfriend Eske. This wonderful family came to experience horseback riding with Farah. After this experience, the family members wanted to meet some more animals, and Farah introduced them to Unica and told her story. Within just a few seconds, the whole family wanted to go into Unica's kennel and a celebration began. Farah said, "I've never experienced anything like this — it was truly love at first sight!". Not even 5 minutes had passed when Patricia Kelly's family declared that they were ready to take Unica home with them. Farah was speechless with happiness. It was like a birthday, Christmas, and Easter all rolled into one, and tears of joy rolled down her cheeks. After so many nights that Farah spent with Unica, promising her each time that she would soon have a beautiful home where she would be loved unconditionally, she can finally keep that promise. Patricia and her loved ones are such an incredibly kindhearted family, and of all people, they chose our Unica. This means so incredibly much to us, is so important for us, and we are simply overjoyed for our Unica!

Finca Noah was delighted to welcome extraordinarily wonderful visitors in July. Patricia Kelly's family with Denis, Alex, Iggy, and Eske visited and accompanied Farah for several days. These shared moments were an enrichment not only for Farah or Animal Police, but especially for the animals at Finca Noah. The amount of love this family brought to Finca Noah is simply incredible! We still can't believe it — what an infinitely big heart for animals this family demonstrated. Animal Police says, hats off! People all over the world can take this family as a role model: so successful, so down-to-earth, and then such a big heart for animals that you barely know where it all fits. THANK YOU!
