DECEMBER 2024

We welcome you, our loyal readers, for the last time this year with our newsletter, and wish you plenty of enjoyment reading in December as well.

First, a brief look back and follow-up on the events from November.

Our horse Argos, who was rescued four years ago in very poor condition and has since thrived beautifully at Finca Noah, had to undergo emergency surgery in November. The severe colic, the blockage in his stomach, and the resulting intestinal obstruction presented us with a very difficult decision.

Contrary to the advice of a veterinarian friend, we decided to have Argos operated on and give him a chance at another happy life. Enormous veterinary costs arose, but after almost two weeks of rehabilitation, Argos was returned to us in perfect health. We and his best friend Pablo, the donkey, are overjoyed that we made the right decision. One of the highlights in animal welfare with a happy ending.

It has been a truly emotional, exhausting, and exciting year behind us, one that sometimes brought us to the edge of despair.

People like us who are passionate about animal welfare are often little survivors. We give everything for the animals, so giving up is not an option for us. We reached out to you, our loyal animal-loving friends who have supported Animal Police so wonderfully all these years, asking for financial help. Help to buy a new home for our over 200 animals currently living at Finca Noah. We were overwhelmed, often moved to tears by how much heart and commitment you showed in helping us. For three months we have urgently asked for help, for donations for the animals. We can proudly tell you that thanks to you, we have raised an incredible donation total of 300,000 CHF. You are truly amazing, wonderful, and really almost beyond words.

A huge thank you especially goes to the Salto family and team. The Benefit Gala on 27.11.2024 focused the entire evening on the animals, on Animal Police. Thank you for the incredible opportunity.

To buy the secure home with all the permits we need, we are unfortunately still short of 200,000 CHF.

Our animals have whispered to us that they have a wish for Christmas…

Some wish for a donation toward a new home, others would like a sponsorship, and some are still looking for their family, their couch spot, their forever place, an adoption. Please fulfill a Christmas wish for these souls rescued from sometimes terrible circumstances. We would love to see many happy and content faces on Christmas Eve. Simply put ANIMAL POLICE in big letters on your Christmas wish list!

On 6 December 2024, the Animal Police members' assembly took place. All members were warmly invited to discuss past events and plans for 2025 together.

We are delighted to welcome Thorsten Lange, Nisha Kapur, Nathalie Fischer, Renata Angehrn, and Urs Streuli as new members. They will all actively support Animal Police in their roles.

For the coming year 2025, we aim to welcome at least 100 new members. You too can easily become a member of Animal Police.

We have no time to let 2024 wind down peacefully. We are committed to the animals even during holidays, Christmas, and New Year's Eve.

In recent days, we have taken in 5 new dogs at Finca Noah who would have been alone and unloved somewhere at Christmas. They are all looking for a new home, and we would be delighted if you reached out if you are looking for an animal companion for life.

From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who actively support us, who believe in us, who give the animals a voice, and who help us with a donation to buy a safe home for the animals.
