Hello, dear readers.
We hope you all had a good start to the new year and, above all, that you're in good health.
Over the last year, we've reported month after month on what our everyday animal welfare work looks like, which animals we've rescued, how many we've been able to accompany to their forever homes, and what challenges we face here in Spain and Mallorca.
The new year has only just begun, but there's already been plenty happening here at Finca Noah.
We managed to rescue little Herkules, a confident and sometimes delusional Chihuahua, from the clutches of a breeder with the help of an animal-loving friend of Farah de Tomi. For years, the little Chihuahua was abused for breeding, kept in a tiny cage, and left to fend for himself 24/7 with just a little water and food. No cuddles, no love, no attention, no playing and running around with other dogs, no warm spot to sleep. His first few days with us, he was a bit overwhelmed by all the big dogs here at the sanctuary, but he quickly settled in and convinced himself that he was at least as big and important as Eloy, the black German Shepherd who runs the entire dog pack here at Finca Noah as their boss.
After just a few weeks, we found a family for little Herkules—his forever home, his spot on the sofa. He got to fly to Germany to the lovely Iris and is now turning his new mom's daily life completely upside down with his new dog buddies.

Sweet Lillie, a water spaniel, also found her fortune and will be flying to beautiful—though currently cold—Switzerland in the coming days. Her family is already eagerly waiting for her, as after 7 years, her previous owners gave her to us because they were leaving Mallorca and believed that Lillie wouldn't be happy with their new life situation. Sometimes we're speechless. In Lillie's case, it was clear to us that no conversation or education would help—Lillie simply wasn't loved anymore, otherwise her owners would have found a solution. Now Lillie gets a second chance and will be a loyal companion and friend again. Thanks to our vet Jann and his dear wife Manuela, we were able to place Lillie with a very loving family.

A little kitten also got to travel and now enjoys a warm bed with cuddles all day long. We're delighted for every single one of our charges who arrive with us, get nursed back to health, are socialized, and then get to travel to their forever homes. We stay in touch with the adoptive parents and almost witness their development in their new home firsthand.
Please keep your fingers crossed that adoptions continue to go as well as they have in these first weeks of the new year. Because that's the only way we can take in more animals who desperately need help.

Noble Birds Enjoying Their New Habitat
We're so proud to welcome peacocks back to the sanctuary. In 2022, we had nine peacocks who suddenly all disappeared. We don't know what happened to them, unfortunately, but we really missed them and their beauty and their loud calls. They were able to roam freely across the whole property, just like our 4 new peacocks. They need space to fly and explore their habitat, so it horrifies us when these animals are locked up. There are two magnificent males and two females.
We hope we'll have better luck finding eggs with the hens than we do with our chickens.

Joyful Splashing in the Pool
The four peacocks brought friends along. They'd been living with geese, who looked at us when we picked up the peacocks as if asking, "What about us—can we come too?" Our geese Doris and Jakob, whom we took in as babies in June 2024, have since become magnificent birds, cheeky as teenagers are, and they keep eating the hair right off our heads. We wanted to give them playmates, and the two new geese, Pilar and Salvar, a nice life with their own pool. The four are happily united and spend most of their time splashing and enjoying life.

Secure a Sponsorship for Your Favorite Animal
All the animals we take in are delighted to have a sponsor, and if a name hasn't been assigned yet, you're welcome to choose one for your sponsored animal. We're committed to practicing sustainable animal welfare, which is why we're also happy to be able to ensure regular financial support for our animals. With a sponsorship, you help our animals every month, so we can cover animal feed and veterinary costs for the long term.
Thank you so much for reading attentively. I wish you all the best and I'm already looking forward to telling you more of our animal stories in February.
Yours,
Nadine De Tomi
