Volunteer Experience Report at Finca Noah (Bea)
I had the privilege of spending my vacation from August 21-28, 2021 at Finca Noah. If you think it's just a bit of petting animals and walking the dogs, you're definitely in the wrong place. It's real physical work that shouldn't be underestimated.

I had the privilege of spending my vacation from August 21-28, 2021 at Finca Noah.
If you think it's just a bit of petting animals and walking the dogs, you're definitely in the wrong place.
It's real physical work that shouldn't be underestimated.
On Saturday, when I arrived, Farah showed me my accommodation, the Casa Jannine. A lovingly furnished little house with everything you could need. The kitchen is super well-equipped with an oven, microwave, stove, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher.
I felt very comfortable right away.
Shortly after, the evening round began. Farah showed me exactly what I had to do.
I quickly noticed that she works very cleanly and efficiently, and she expected the same from me.
The evening flew by and I collapsed into bed, exhausted.
In the following days, work started at 8:00 AM. Walking the dogs, cleaning their enclosures, tidying up and cleaning 3 cat enclosures, cleaning litter boxes and feeding the cats, filling water and feeding in the rabbit area.
Picking up dog droppings and collecting leaves happened twice a day as well.
Then, once all that was done, we moved on to the sheep, the pony, and the deer. There, the area was meticulously cleaned of their droppings.
We called it meditating.
This work took a lot of time.
Besides the animals, there was also plenty of work to do around the farm.
Twice we knocked down carob pods from the tree and collected them.
Then we had to stock feed in the container β there was always something to do.
The days went by very quickly, and in the evening I fell into bed tired, exhausted, but satisfied.
I was welcomed very warmly at Finca Noah; I felt very comfortable.
What took some getting used to was that Farah says what she thinks. She can be very direct and can also raise her voice. Her manner intimidated me a little at first.
But we also had wonderful conversations and got to know each other a bit.
The week went by so fast β by the time you know how everything works, you already have to pack again.
For me, I can say that it was exactly what I wanted to do, and that I want to come back to Finca Noah.
Thank you for this beautiful week, which I will always carry in my heart.
Warm regards
Bea
