Volunteer Experience at Finca Noah (Tamä)

From June 14 to June 21, I had the great fortune of spending a week as a volunteer at Finca Noah in Mallorca. A place dedicated with all its heart to animal welfare. Already upon my arrival in Palma, I had the pleasure of meeting Farah, since we landed at almost the same time. When I arrived at the Finca, I was welcomed warmly and affectionately by the animals. Of course, also by Nadine and Juan. 😉 A moment I won't forget anytime soon. On the first evening, I had the opportunity to go out to eat with Farah, Nadine, and Juan, which was a wonderful way to start the week. The next morning, we got right to work – everything was shown and explained to me, so I was able to help care for the animals right away: cleaning the enclosures, the outdoor pens, feeding, caring for the animals, and walking the dogs.

What particularly touched me was the incredible trust and lovingness of the animals. You notice immediately how well they are doing at the Finca. By evening, I was usually pretty much at my limit and exhausted, but also deeply satisfied with the work accomplished and the contentment of the animals. The cleanliness at the Finca is impressive – you could literally eat off the ground around the animals. Everything is well-maintained, orderly, and designed with so much love.

A particularly moving moment was a visit with Farah to a kill shelter, an experience with tears and a broken heart. Witnessing what it's like there, seeing all those helpless animals, stays with me even today. Fortunately, there is still the Animal Police Association…

Thank you for your physical efforts, which often push you to your limits, out of love and responsibility for the animals…
