JANUARY 2021

Written by Farah herself once again.

Animal Police has had a great start to 2021, and the team is eager and ready to embrace the challenges that the new year brings with passion and dedication!

Farah De Tomi's Motto
"If it seems impossible, it's possible" – this applies to 2021 as well!

2020 was not an easy year for any people or animals on this earth with Covid-19.

At the beginning of the year, no one could have imagined what the virus would bring upon us. The rest is well known (see November/December newsletter). Now we're already in February, and we'd love to tell you what we can all look forward to – but unfortunately, that's currently impossible. Nothing will be certain!

Dear Animal Police members and animal lovers around the world. Especially in these uncertain times, we depend on your help! Please help our animal friends – the entire Animal Police team thanks you from the bottom of its heart.

January was very "stormy" at Finca Noah

Storm "Hortensia" swept across the island of Mallorca with winds of about 130 km/h on January 22, 2021, causing major damage throughout the island. Unfortunately, our Finca Noah was not spared. The tornados devastated much of what had been lovingly and carefully built! What took months to create fell apart in just a few hours.

But dear animal lovers, the most important thing... thank God... no animal was hurt. Animals really do have a sixth sense. When it started, the animals ran outside and instinctively knew that it was safest under the open sky. What an experience!

Meanwhile, with our combined efforts, we've been able to restore almost everything, and all our animal friends have a roof over their heads again.

Sponsorships for our elderly and frail animals

In January, we found sponsors for animals that have found their home at Finca Noah and are not easy to place elsewhere. The elderly and sick animals get to enjoy their final years at Finca Noah and receive loving care and attention. We'd like to thank you for supporting these sponsorships!

An adoption from about 1.5 years ago: our beloved Jamiro, the sweet black baby kitten from mama Ding Dong

Finding a new home for black cats is always more difficult than for kittens of other colors – it's because of the absurd superstition, especially here in Spain, that they bring bad luck. Only God knows why.

Animal Police was so fortunate that we were able to find loving homes for all 5 black kittens from Ding Dong (that's what the black mama was called). We're happy to show you Jamiro, who was able to fly to Switzerland to join the Wielandt family (Tim Wielandt, former Mr. Switzerland 2007). Today, Jamiro enjoys a wonderful life with his new playmate at Lake Zurich.

We wish Jamiro lots of joy and continued fun as a pair!

Adoption of our beloved Smoke, also known as the TERMINATOR

Today Smoke was allowed to go to Switzerland to his new home. Completely excited and in full play mode, he let himself be put into the travel box without any fuss. Once he arrived in Switzerland, our dear Manuela Rapp, who had placed Smoke, took him in. But before heading to his new home, our veterinarian Jann Rapp wanted to do a check-up with Terminator, so they drove straight from the airport to the practice. The new family was already waiting there for the little rascal, who was still in play mode even after 4 hours of travel. We received these two photos showing us that another animal has truly won the lottery.

Many thanks to this family for giving a stray animal a home.

We'd also like to thank all our animal adopters for taking in an Animal Police four-legged friend. It touches us every time we receive photos of "our" furry friends enjoying their evenings on the couch in front of the TV with their families.

"CALL FOR HELP" from Slovakia – with over 300 dogs

Over 300 dogs in Slovakia are facing death by freezing and starvation. There are shortages everywhere – food is running out and there are no warm sleeping places. For any animal lover, this is a nightmare. Dear animal friends, it's reality!

Since the animal welfare organization Animal Police tries to help all animals in this world, no matter where they are or what kind of animal needs help, it was clear that when our Farah learned of this terrible, miserable situation, she would move heaven and earth to help the many poor dogs. "If it seems impossible, it's possible"!

After countless phone calls with various organizations and contacts, Farah succeeded.
The company Qualipet from Switzerland promised Farah about 40 to 50 tons of dog food. Made available immediately and free of charge for delivery to Slovakia. A truly heavenly donation!

At this point, words cannot express it – our heartfelt thanks to Qualipet, also on behalf of all the animal souls. The food is on its way to Slovakia. Animal Police and Qualipet are making it happen.

Farah has also already found a generous donor who has agreed to cover the transport costs to Slovakia. We'll be happy to report in February how the transport and handover went.

A tip for cat owners

A cat would never eat grain in the wild.
Grain in cat food can actually cause problems, because: Cats have difficulty digesting carbohydrates in the form of starch. Grain can quickly become a weight-maker due to its high energy density and many carbohydrates. Grain additives can affect blood sugar levels.

That's why pay attention to the label on the food packaging or ask your veterinarian.

For example, the grass that many pet stores sell for house cats is also very dangerous for cats. The grass has edges that are far too sharp and thus injures the stomach lining. Our veterinarian Jann Rapp much prefers to recommend paying attention to good nutrition instead.

Simply "be human" – Thank you, dear Farah – 2020

A look back at Farah and Finca Noah.
First, a deep and heartfelt thank you to our president Farah de Tomi for everything this woman, born under the Cancer sign with Leo ascendant, accomplishes and has accomplished. Our Farah, born under Cancer, is characterized by her reliability, her constancy in life, and is known for her practical and swift support – devoted and passionate… that's our Farah!

Her Leo ascendant gives her the strength, and at the same time she shows a big heart for her fellow humans and animals. She is proud and courageous at once, warm-hearted and always on the hunt for new challenges. Both privately and professionally, 2020 was not an easy year for Farah. She endured all the lows and made the most of the highs, and accomplished much in animal welfare. In 2020, she saved the lives of countless animals and gave them or found them beautiful homes. Whether abroad or at Finca Noah, the welfare of animals comes first for Farah!

In this strong woman lives a warm-hearted person with an animal soul. She gladly uses her strength to stand up for others, the weak, with all her heart – those who lack courage and strength. That's our Farah – Team Animal Police forever.
