NOVEMBER & DECEMBER 2020

Written by Farah herself again.

First and foremost, I want to sincerely apologize for keeping you waiting so long for today's newsletter. I'm truly sorry! Our construction work was in full swing and I simply "forgot" about the newsletter. That said, I do hope you're all excited to hear what news we have in store for you, and I wish you lots of fun reading! Your Farah

In November, Finca Noah was made winter-ready.

Since we had already completed our dog and cat enclosures earlier in the year and had organized everything accordingly, all that was left was to install the plexiglass walls. After that, our enclosures were absolutely ready for winter.

All the preparations ran in parallel with our daily routine in November, which we fortunately managed brilliantly. Now we can proudly say that our planning and the way we built everything was absolutely perfect.
Our animals are now well and safely cared for during the winter.

November was a highlight when it came to dog and cat adoptions.
We were able to give homes to so many little creatures. Whether here on the island, in Germany, or in Switzerland.

Among others, the following four-legged friends got to move into new homes:

  • Our pony Antonina/Crochetta got to stay here on the island
  • The Dobermann female Kyra now lives in Germany
  • Our red tom Fredd got to go to Germany after spending about 10 months with us at Finca Noah
  • The Podenco female Giulla, who was rescued from an abandoned finca, also stays here on the island
  • Sunday is enjoying her new life in Urdorf CH
  • The black Labrador Jessy got to go to beautiful Switzerland
  • The kitten Marsia also got to go to Switzerland
  • The Pastor Mallorquin female Black Dyamond found a beautiful home with a Swiss family here on the island of Mallorca
  • The kitten Minusch got to go to Urdorf in Switzerland thanks to the Rapp family
  • The beautiful Siamese, Selva-Diego, also got to go to Switzerland
  • Our Cat-Woman and her 5 babies all found loving homes in Switzerland. Four of them in Bern
  • The Pastor Mallorquin Roxy got to stay on Mallorca with a wonderful family
  • The kitten Chica also got to go to Switzerland
  • The puppy Boss, the last of them all, is enjoying the luxury life in St. Moritz — an absolute highlight!

I'd be happy to send you some pictures showing the condition they were in when rescued and how they're doing today. They all receive endless love now, which is simply beautiful!

It makes me incredibly happy to see that our daily work for the animals here at Finca Noah brings so much positive impact.

A December Full of Action

Now to the truth. There's no denying it. When you want to rescue animals that are kept in deplorable conditions or even abused, you simply have to free them from their misery. We call this: animal rescue!
During the winter months, many animals here are forgotten. These poor creatures are left to fend for themselves and struggle to survive. Usually still chained to a tree and, in extreme cases, without even a roof over their heads. The current lockdown situation on Mallorca has brought a dire situation for these poor animals, who are now being fed even less. Animal Police therefore needs much more food than usual to be able to help as many animals as possible.

The Year 2020

Rarely has a year posed as many challenges as 2020! Especially for animal welfare. Our help was needed more than ever before. However, together we did everything in our power and gave our all to save as many animal lives as possible! Here's a brief recap of our highlights from the year:

Already in January, Finca Noah saw significant growth. The three horses Nebraska, One&Only, and Linda moved in with us. The year also started with lots of action, as we got to enjoy our daily life at the finca with L'Unica and her 5 puppies.

Another highlight at the beginning of the year was the broadcast of the series "Adieu Heimat," where Farah was able to participate. We're still incredibly grateful that 3Plus gave us this opportunity and that we were able to count on so many friends and donations as a result!

Animal Holiday
February brought the next chapter, and Animal Police launched "animal holiday." We couldn't have been luckier with our first guest. Daniela was and is a tremendous asset to our organization. The Animal Police family not only grew with Daniela, but also with the horse Argos and our clever donkey Pablo, also called Pablito, who now enjoy their life with us and continue to bring us much joy.

Major Animal Welfare Action
Another milestone was the major animal welfare action and its success: rescuing and neutering over 1,000 street animals.

Of course, with construction still ongoing, there was no thought of a break, and Finca Noah looked more and more beautiful day by day.

Lockdown
Already in March, lockdown was imposed on Mallorca and the COVID situation hit us like a hammer... from then on, our daily life changed from zero to a hundred. The conditions on the island are shocking and it needs animal protectors more than ever before.

Nevertheless, Animal Police was able to continue fighting and rescued three little lambs that almost ended up on dinner plates. From that moment on, our beloved Poi/Paul has been at Finca Noah and puts a smile on everyone's face every single day.

Major Food Donation
In April, the biggest highlight for Animal Police was the first major food donation. Over 42 pallets of animal food and supplies were donated to us and we couldn't believe it. This was an incredible gesture and, especially in such difficult times, an invaluable glimmer of hope!

Animal Protectors Stand Together!
April showed us how the animal welfare community comes together, and it gave everyone strength to continue fighting despite the ongoing lockdown—and we truly were strong! The highlight of this month was the rescue operation for the wolf hybrids—something seemingly impossible became possible!

The family continued to grow and more and more paws crawl, hop, gallop, climb, or run around Finca Noah. What could be more beautiful than seeing how many animals have been rescued? And the finca continues to take shape through the construction work.

The New Buildings
June brought great joy when we were able to announce that the largest buildings were finally completed. There was great celebration!

Ferdinando the Bull
But the greatest joy came from successfully rescuing Ferdinando the bull. He became an absolute favorite of the community and received many personal donations, which allowed us to care for him to become a completely healthy and happy bull. In addition to Ferdinando, Finca Noah received wonderful new members, and the family added its first ducks and chickens.

In July, our Ferdinando was finally able to move into his new home, where he now enjoys his remaining life in good company with "buddies" and loving care.

Kitten Rescue Mission
Animal Police was challenged with a rescue mission for 16 kittens. Almost all of them are being nursed back to health and will soon move into beautiful, new, and loving homes.

Kelly Family Visit
August brought a new year highlight: a visit from the P-Kelly-Family, accompanied by a television crew. But the best part is yet to come: they adopted our beloved L'Unica, and soon she'll be able to live with the P-Kelly-Family in Germany.

Numerous Emergencies
September brought everything. Numerous emergencies and rescue operations, the construction of the rabbit stable, the journey of our L'Unica to Germany, and new family members Maria, Josef, and Jesus. The three sheep now enjoy their paradise together as a herd at Finca Noah. And all this while the island of Mallorca continues to sink into silence...

Aixa the Black Mare
With October came the next shock! The rescue operation of Aixa, the black mare. Unfortunately, we weren't able to keep her and she had to go back to her terrible home. But Animal Police continues to try to get information about her condition.

But more arrivals were not far behind. Our amazing mama dog Donna came to us, along with her 11 puppies. That was quite a crew that literally kept us on our toes 24 hours a day.

Outlook for 2021
Now we've reached the end of the year and are already poised for 2021. We will continue to do everything we can to rescue animals, nurse them back to health, and find them new homes. We look forward to telling you about our successes from the new year.

Warmly,
Your Farah
