PLENTY OF SUN AND LITTLE WATER
In July, we focused mainly on supplying water daily to all animals that have to stay somewhere in the middle of nowhere, in the blazing sun. The Animal Police team has been out across the whole island every day this hot summer to provide as many animals as possible with the drinking water they need. We continue to be deeply shocked and incredibly saddened by the miserable conditions and cruel treatment in this heat, but we are grateful that we can help these poor souls. Thank you to our team for their outstanding commitment!
PREPARING FOR WINTER
We would like to use this newsletter to launch an appeal. We are already collecting blankets, pillows, baskets, and everything that will keep the animals warm throughout the winter. We ask our fans not to throw away anything that could help our freezing friends on the island and to join us in this big collection drive. Together, we can ensure the animals on the island have a warm and secure winter. Our goal is to have a thousand blankets, pillows, and baskets ready by the end of October when the cold arrives. We, but especially the little animals, are grateful to you for every contribution!
FOOD
Thanks to the kind-hearted people Jann and Manuela Rapp, Animal Police received over a thousand kilos of animal feed. In July, we were able to fill an entire horse transporter purchased in Zurich and drive it to Mallorca. By today, these thousand kilos of feed have already been distributed to animal lovers and animal protection advocates, and many animals are enjoying their meals!
Once again, our heartfelt thanks to Jann and Manuela Rapp for this wonderful food donation, and we are already looking forward to the next shipment of feed for all the animals on the island of Mallorca.
NEW HAPPINESS FOR OVER 40 ANIMALS
In July, we were able to free around 40 little animals from their suffering. Whether through veterinary care, rescues from miserable conditions, or by placing them in new, happy homes. Animal Police is delighted with every single rescue operation and thanks all helpers and adopters from the bottom of our hearts. Together with you, we achieve incredibly good things for the animals on Mallorca, and this makes us endlessly happy! Together, we can give the freed and rescued animals what they have deserved their whole lives: a beautiful home, good health, and plenty of love!
DING DONG AND HER BABIES
When the cat Ding Dong was rescued from the street while heavily pregnant, she immediately captured a big place in Farah's heart. She is a somewhat shy and distrustful, but very lovable cat. For this reason, Farah has decided that Ding Dong can stay with her to enjoy her life. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity for our Ding Dong!
In the meantime, Ding Dong gave birth to her five babies. Every single one is healthy and a happy kitten, which makes us incredibly happy! All of the kittens have already found a beautiful home, and we thank the adoptive parents from the bottom of our hearts and wish the kittens and their families a wonderful time together!
Fendy and Fiona even got to stay on the dream island of Mallorca. Fendy is now the new family member of a super lovely German family in Antrax. With the family's two children and the other cat, Fendy has great playmates and will certainly receive plenty of cuddles and love from this wonderful family! Fiona was adopted by a very nice Colombian family in Cala Millor. We are sure that Fiona will receive endless love and has found a beautiful home. Tim Wielandt, Mister Switzerland 2007, also proved to have a heart for animals. Our Jamiro now gets to enjoy his life with Tim and his family and has really landed well with these loving people! The other two babies, Felis and Fiore, have also found a charming home in Switzerland thanks to our veterinarian Jann Rapp and his wife Manuela Rapp. The Illi family and the Wyss family have given the kittens a new chance and are offering them a life to enjoy, relax, and cuddle.
HEARTFELT THANKS TO ALL ADOPTIVE PARENTS WHO GIVE OUR ANIMALS THE CHANCE FOR A BEAUTIFUL AND BELOVED LIFE, AS THEY DESERVE.
VULCANO
We learned about our powerful stallion through a very kind German woman who contacted Farah and told her that in Santiny there is a grey horse that is covered in flies and severely malnourished. He has become a wild animal and has to make do without water and food. Animal Police of course had to go there immediately. We provided him with veterinary care, sought out the owner, and obtained permission to be responsible for the stallion. Vulcano now finally gets food and water again. He is visited three times a week by a horse trainer who works with him. We named him Vulcano because the eighteen-month-old stallion now has so much dynamite in him and has never had the chance to express it his entire life. In the meantime, he is very trusting and is delighted when someone visits him. In the fall, we plan to have Vulcano castrated and hope that he will find a place at Gaby's horse farm afterwards. You will hear how things progress in the next newsletters.
FINCA NOAH
Animal Police is still searching for a suitable property for our dream Finca Noah. In the meantime, we have looked at many more properties. However, our favourite is still the dream estate in Campos, which we found in June. To make our absolute dream a reality, we still need EUR 200,000. We will not give up and are pushing ahead with full force!
FARAH TURNS 50
On July 16, 2019, our Farah turned 50 years old. Of course, she celebrated this surrounded by her loved ones! As everyone probably knows, Farah's heart is completely filled with Animal Police, and so instead of gifts, she wanted to collect donations for her beloved animals. Successfully, she was able to bring several donations into Animal Police's coffers.
The month of July also brought us many new contacts and friendships, for which Animal Police is extremely grateful. We always work according to our motto: "Together we are strong!"
