May was not only a challenge for Animal Police, but with great commitment, heartfelt actions and impressions, it was also very successful.
COVID CRISIS
The Animal Police team has survived another month of the coronavirus crisis. In many ways, it brought an enormous amount of challenges and demanded full commitment from all of us. Not only our team was affected, but all animal welfare advocates on the island of Mallorca.
The lockdown and the accompanying crisis, which also brings financial difficulties for some people, has resulted in cats being abandoned far more frequently. Abandoned on the streets, in garbage containers or in other terrible places, many animals are currently found in poor condition. All the more so, we are filled with pride to see how the animal welfare community on the island is engaging. They show tireless dedication by not simply leaving these animals to their fate, but by taking them in, caring for them and giving them love. As a result, the Animal Police family has also grown and we have given a cat family a new home where they can feel safe and loved. We are thrilled to wait until the happy kittens reach the right age and can become part of a new, loving family through sponsorships or adoptions.
Even during this crisis, Animal Police continues to fight for the rights of animals and our team is tireless. Our pride and our gratitude cannot be put into words! The coronavirus crisis puts many obstacles in our way that we must overcome. At this point, we would like to thank our donors from the bottom of our hearts. THANK YOU for not forgetting us even in such difficult times, for believing in us and supporting us. Once again, it becomes clear that without this support, we would not be the animal welfare organization Animal Police that we are today. We know that in such unusual times as we are currently experiencing, it is not a given that people continue to support an organization like ours, and we appreciate this immensely! HEARTFELT THANKS!
HELP FOR THE ANIMALS
We would also like to ask at this point that we and especially the animals are not forgotten. These poor souls, who depend on our help, are the least responsible for the world being in a COVID-19 crisis. Therefore, we ask you from the bottom of our hearts to continue supporting the animals in need and to help Animal Police fight day after day for their survival!

FINCA NOAH
Our Finca Noah is becoming more and more of a paradise for animals, where there is not a single day of rest. Day after day, Farah and her helpers work to transform Finca Noah into a real home for their rescued charges. The effort, the countless hours of work, aching joints, torn hands and short nights are gradually paying off. It is increasingly taking shape and you can see the incredible progress as well as the tireless dedication. The animals at Finca Noah thus have a future in sight to enjoy life to the fullest and be pampered by Animal Police. On June 30, 2020, the renovation will be completed and the rough framework will be finished. Animal Police and especially Farah can hardly wait. We thank everyone for every helping hand, every encouraging word and the great moral support that everyone has contributed to creating this animal paradise! It is a great honor for Animal Police and a deeply moving concern to be able to provide suffering animals with such a beautiful and carefree place to stay.
RESCUE OPERATION FOR WOLF HYBRIDS
In recent weeks, a tragic case has caused us sleepless nights.
A few weeks ago, shocking news arrived. On the island of Mallorca, a breeder of wolf hybrids wants to euthanize his 17 animals because he has no further use for these creatures. Both the urgency of getting rid of the animals and the enormous effort and hopelessness of finding 17 wolf hybrids a new location led the breeder to make his decision:
"The wolves must be killed. The grave has already been dug."
Fortunately, the responsible veterinarian is not just an "executing organ" but also a human being and immediately sounded the alarm with the animal welfare organization Animal Police.
Thanks to President Farah de Tomi, this news quickly became public β even beyond the borders of Mallorca. As a result, animal welfare advocates were alerted who did not hesitate to consider every possible option to get help.
Cries for help on social media platforms, contacting potential wildlife parks in Europe, and calling every useful contact such as animal welfare advocate Sabine Rebeneck and wolf expert Jos brought the first results:
As of now, we have secured a new place to live for all surviving animals. Several wildlife parks in Germany and Spain have agreed to take in some of the animals. Unfortunately, however, not all animals could be saved, because the oldest wolf hybrids were euthanized on Monday, April 13, 2020 due to their already very advanced age and relieved of their suffering. According to sources, the breeder was prevented from euthanizing the animals as early as Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.
Only thanks to the pressure that Animal Police exerted on the breeder and the consistent actions of the animal welfare advocate/president of "Baldea" Maxi Lange and the responsible mayor, did animal welfare advocates have a few more days to solve this horrible situation.
Several wolf hybrids are in a life-or-death emergency. According to the breeder, as recently as April 14, 2020, "the already dug grave" was to have been closed. Various animal welfare advocates have united and are investing time, effort and great human commitment to save the animals' lives. An action that once again shows how important cooperation is and what can be achieved together.
It must not be allowed that self-proclaimed "breeders" can make such decisions with impunity and an animal's life is worth nothing.
Let us fight together against animal suffering and give this horror a happy ending.
The wolf hybrids finally deserve to be able to live an appropriate, beautiful life without being victims of "people" who want to shirk responsibility for the sake of convenience.
In a world shared with animals, there is no place for such people.
We are overjoyed that we could help the hybrids and hope that nothing will stand in our way to provide them with a beautiful new home, which they have now more than earned!
EASING OF THE COVID CRISIS
Animal Police is delighted that easing out of lockdown will soon be in sight. Finally, we can open the gates of Finca Noah again. Freely go out on the streets to rescue animals. Simply give our full effort again without restrictions. We are also very much looking forward to welcoming guests again. Our friends from Switzerland, Germany and Austria have been greatly missed and we would be thrilled to have some visits as soon as circumstances allow. But not only us, but especially our furry honorary members look forward to every single cuddle!
ANIMAL VACATION AT FINCA NOAH
The Animal Police vacation program can now start again and we are looking forward to it very much! All information can be found on our homepage: /volunteers/
From July 1st onwards, it will be possible to book flights to Mallorca again. We, but especially the four-legged residents of Finca Noah would be thrilled to receive help and support and of course to experience beautiful and unforgettable moments together.
Animal Police is excited and is starting the much-promising month of June with confidence!
Warmest regards
The Animal Police Team
