Animal Police rises to the challenge of the coronavirus crisis and continues to work at full speed for animal protection in April.
MAJOR FEED DONATION
The conditions caused by the lockdown on Mallorca are alarming when it comes to feeding animals and feed shortages. Without hesitation, our Karin decided to contact various animal feed suppliers. Thanks to her commitment, Karin managed to secure an enormous feed donation for all the animals on Mallorca. The companies QUALIPET and PETZEBA, as well as Virbac CH, contributed almost 36 pallets of feed, ensuring that our animal protection animals on the island of Mallorca can be cared for during this difficult time. Our Andi, who works for Animal Police Germany, also proved that his contacts can work wonders. He managed to organize several pallets of horse feed through his brother, who works for Raiffeisen (a feed company), as well as horse accessories and more.
Now it was up to us (Animal Police) to transport this large quantity (a total of 42 pallets) safely and on time to the island. This initially presented significant financial and logistical challenges, but thanks to the support of the shipping company Transco Suisse AG and their customs contacts, we were able to bring the goods across the Swiss border more affordably despite the difficult coronavirus circumstances. The shipment went to Bochum, where the shipping company Wurzer helped us deliver the feed at a special animal welfare rate to Mallorca. When the donations finally arrived at our Finca Noah, Farah was speechless and once again overwhelmed by how much cargo came on that first semi-truck.
With tears in her eyes, she unloaded the goods with friends and was once more left speechless, yet overjoyed!
She said it was "like Christmas, birthday, and Easter all rolled into one." Her big heart for animals motivated her to post a message on social media that all animal protection workers and pet owners on the island could pick up feed from us at Finca Noah for animals in need. Animal Police is overjoyed that with all these donations we were able to help so many animals.
Also, a big thank you to Lilian, who delivered feed to certain animal lovers at their homes. Thanks to our donors, we were able to pay for the entire transport and customs costs in a five-figure amount.
Once again, heartfelt thanks to Karin, Dani, Andi, Manuela, Jann, Lilian, and all the helpers who made this action possible β you are absolutely amazing and we are incredibly proud of our team!

Flight Godparents
As announced, we would like to inform you about the uncomplicated and of course free adoption of a flight godparent sponsorship.
What does it mean to be a flight godparent or to take on a flight godparent sponsorship?
Flight godparents are travelers who take dogs or cats as "animals in the cargo hold or cabin" on their vacation or business flights.
Very important: This incurs no costs for the flight godparent.
The background is as follows: Once animals are placed from Mallorca to Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, a flight godparent is needed, because no animal may fly without an accompanying passenger. How do I become a flight godparent and help an animal into a better life?
The flight godparent should contact us best a few weeks before departure:
Animal Police 0041-763980906
or register for free in the flight godparent portal: www.flugpate.com. Here only registered animal protection organizations have the opportunity to contact you.
Our animals are of course prepared for departure (e.g., EU passport with valid vaccinations, microchip, tests, etc.).
The following airlines accept animals on their routes: Condor, Edelweiss Air, Eurowings, Iberia, Lufthansa, LuxAir, Norwegian, Sun Air, Swiss, Transavia, TuiFly, and Vueling.
Some airlines only take small animals as carry-on luggage. We can tell you directly which ones once you tell us your airline.
All costs are covered by the respective animal protection organization. The animal is registered with your airline by the animal protection organization as an "additional piece of luggage" and completely free of charge for you.
At the airport, the flight godparent meets with the animal protector. The animal is then checked in together at the counter and then taken to the special baggage counter, as the flight crate must be scanned without the dog. The animal protector checks in the animal together with you and your luggage β if applicable.
A small animal (dog/cat up to 8 kilos) flies in the cabin with you, and larger animals fly in the climate-controlled cargo hold of the aircraft. The flight godparent only needs to carry the animal's vaccination certificate in their carry-on luggage. The necessary flight crate or pet travel bag is of course brought by Animal Police with the animal. Upon arrival at the destination airport, the flight godparent picks up their luggage with the cart from the belt and then the crate with the animal at the special baggage counter. In Switzerland, the flight godparent must go to Terminal 2 and is obligated to report to customs to clear the animal through customs... If the animal is not cleared through customs, it can result in the veterinary office seizing the animal.
A member of the animal protection organization and the animal's new family wait for you at the exit and happily receive the dog or cat. (The pickup contact details are provided to the flight godparent in advance.) Our animals are of course picked up by our organization and the new family.
A flight godparent sponsorship is uncomplicated help and for our animals the happy opportunity to fly into their new life.
Warm regards
The Animal Police Team
